brain2heart NY

about the chapter.

New York, known for its bustling environment, unfortunately has one of the largest disparities in poverty. Today, approximately 13.9% of New Yorkers live in poverty. Alongside brain2heart’s ultimate mission to bridge the gaps between accessible healthcare education and students alike, change is what we seek in our community. Together, brain2heart’s New York chapter aims to foster an inclusive environment rooted in equity and fair opportunities, in the heart of New York. We strive to end the economic barriers within the fields of education and medicine. Let’s make an impact today, for a healthier tomorrow.

A Quick Note from Sara Kong, our founder:

“Growing up in New York City, it was hard to discover accessible resources that could truly educate me about health, while allowing me to gain hands on experience within the field. I know there are others like me, who have the drive to learn, yet lack the facilities to do so. Social equity is an important value for me, especially in the city that never sleeps.”
